So far, I have cycled through 16 countries and crossed Europe, finishing in Tbilisi. I am currently on pause, and will return in April, to continue the adventures, cycling across Asia, to Australia and beyond!
So far!
A dream was born!
I was at University in my first year. The traditional path of getting a job straight after just didn't seem... enticing. One day, probably avoiding studying, I stumbled online onto an article about someone who had cycled around the world. What?! It was actually possible to do that?
A seed was sewn, a dream born - that same day I promised myself; one day, I would cycle around the world.
As I eagerly rushed to tell my flatmates, assuming they would share my enthusiasm, I was uncontrollably excited, never more certain about what I wanted to do. Of course, they told me I was crazy, told me it would never happen, that it was 'other' people who did that. But by then it was too late; Pandora's box was opened, something inside me awoken, and my life's direction forever changed.
Why?
Right you! Stop asking difficult questions. This is something I've asked myself a lot... especially when life on the road isn't as peachy as it could be. I still don't entirely know why I'm doing it myself.
What I do know, is that it seemed like the most logical thing ever. There were just so many reasons as to why it was a great idea, and I couldn't think of any reasons why not to take this opportunity. I had to ask myself why everyone wasn't heading off on their bikes!
A few of the reasons why:
- A great way to see many different countries cheaply.
- To fully immerse myself in different cultures.
- To meet amazing people.
- Pursuing a strong sense of adventure.
- I love a challenge - Can I manage it, physically and mentally? I had no idea!
- So I don't need to shower as frequently as Mum would like.
- I assumed girls 'digged' a guy who's cycled around the world. (Turns out they don't - maybe linked to the above reason?!)

I'm amazed by the support I've received, and enthusiasm for the blog posts I've been putting up. I cannot extend my gratitude enough! Many people have even asked if they can donate to help keep me on the road, or provide a little treat I cannot afford on my meagre €5/day budget!
There is a button above which makes this possible, if you wish.
Thank you ever so much for any donation of any amount - it really will be a huge help to this trip!

Have an amazing trip and keep safe
